On 16th March, 1915, A Company of the 4th King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 80 Brigade, 27th Division relieved the Royal Irish Fusiliers in part of the line near Dickebusch near the Mound which was in enemy hands and proceeded to strengthen the position as best as they could. The battalion continued with this dangerous work, company by company, over the next week and on 22nd March, Thomas Palmer was killed. |
